Altibase Inc. Announces Donation of its In-Memory Database, a Gartner2012 Pick, to Universities and Colleges Nationwide

Since 1999, Altibase has established the reputation of being the most battle-tested In-Memory Database solution with an install base of 500+ enterprise clients and thousands of deployments.

The demand for mature, reliable and proven In-Memory Database solutions is witnessing exponential growth. However, with the rapid introduction of technologies such as NoSQL, cached solutions, and other variations, divisive confusion on the efficacy of each is equally pervasive.

“Altibase is thrilled to provide its software to students everywhere so that they are armed with the knowledge to navigate the complexities of cutting-edge database technologies for years to come.” – Chris Chung, CEO of Altibase Inc.

According to “Gartner’s Technology Trends for Information Infrastructure: Big Data, NoSQL and In-Memory Computing”, Gartner states “In-Memory Computing enables the organizations to develop applications that run advanced queries on large data sets or perform complex transactions faster compared to the techniques using conventional architectures. This emerging paradigm opens the unexplored opportunities for business innovation (e.g., real-time analysis of big data in motion) and cost reduction.”

“As Gartner has identified In-Memory Computing as a top ten technology trend for 2013 while including Altibase in its ‘Who’s Who in In-Memory DBMSs,’ Altibase recognizes the importance for universities and colleges to add these components to their core Computer Science and Technology curriculum.” – Chris Chung, CEO of Altibase Inc.

With the mounting demand of In-Memory Database solutions in today’s market, Altibase Inc. is offering a generous sponsorship to all universities and colleges so that the nation’s future engineers will be prepared to decipher the myths and misconceptions that surround the database market.

This program will raise awareness and enhance skillsets for students everywhere to understand enterprise In-Memory Database software. This will allow them to demonstrate competency involved with modeling, designing, and implementing enterprise-level database management systems such as ALTIBASE HDB™ when they are in the real-world.

ALTIBASE HDB™ offers a rich reference of installations, complete sets of features, standard SQL compliance, ACID compliance, High Availability, Replication, outstanding Horizontal and Vertical scalability coupled with robust quality assurance processes and comprehensive support.

“We are happy to introduce young people to the exciting possibilities of project-based learning and encourage more students to pursue careers in engineering and technology” – Chris Chung, CEO of Altibase Inc.

Altibase Inc. believes in educating the next generation of engineers with the most innovative technology and support possible.

Samsung Selects ALTIBASE HDB™ for Samsung Apps store’s User Authentication system on Amazon AWS EC2 Cloud

Altibase has helped our company expand its app base and user satisfaction in a very short time period while eliminating much of our previous headaches. We are very pleased with the results. – Senior Engineer of Samsung Electronics

Greater New York City (PRWEB) July 15, 2013

Samsung Apps (i.e. iTunes, Google Play Store) ran on Oracle Coherence prior to its adoption of ALTIBASE HDB™. Samsung required stable, uninterrupted service for the growing popularity of its Galaxy smartphone series as well as its other marquis products. Oracle Coherence did not provide continuous stability and this undermined Samsung’s service. The Oracle Coherence based backend failed, causing Samsung’s global authentication service to stop for several hours.

Further, Samsung could not recover critical data after the Oracle Coherence crash because of irretrievable data loss.

Samsung chose ALTIBASE HDB™ on the Amazon EC2 AWS Cloud platform to provide a high performance, reliable and robust global authentication service for its fast-growing number of App users. In addition to Samsung’s high performance (Hot Data) needs, it needed a solution for storing large historical data (Cold Data).

Samsung Apps needed to run without interruption and with real-time speed while possessing the capacity for an abundance of storage and the ability to easily scale-out.

ALTIBASE HDB™ provided Samsung with the features of High Availability, ACID compliance, replication and active-active configuration to meet all of those needs. In addition, since ALTIBASE HDB™ comes with In-Memory and On-Disk hybrid architecture out-of-the-box and in a single unified engine, there is virtually no limit to handle multi-temperature data.

“Since ALTIBASE HDB™ has In-Memory Database and On-Disk Database in a single unified engine with a single interface, bidirectional movement of frequently used data and historical data is painless. Total cost of ownership (TCO) is significantly lower and is coupled with maximized flexibility. Use what you need, when you need it, in real-time.” – Chris Chung, CEO of Altibase, Inc.

“Altibase has helped our company expand its app base and user satisfaction in a very short time period while eliminating much of our previous headaches. We are very pleased with the results.” – Senior Engineer of Samsung Electronics.

Altibase has received numerous awards and recognitions from both government and IT leaders for excellence in database management software solutions, pioneering R&D and leadership in In-Memory computing.

“I am especially pleased to have had the privilege to enhance Samsung Apps with ALTIBASE HDB™, a solution that they can count on non-stop and without issue.” – Chris Chung, CEO of Altibase, Inc.

Growing demands of strategic data management is crucial to revenue growth, reduction in spend and sustained profitably. Success is defined by optimizing data management. ALTIBASE HDB™ In-Memory Database solutions are the single point solution for over 500 enterprise clients and thousands of deployments.

Big Data is here and Altibase Inc. is poised, ready and fully prepared to tackle the associated demands.
